Privacy Policy

What this website collects, where it goes, and who reads it. In short: nothing at all unless you fill in a form and press send.

DRAFT — NOT YET REVIEWED. This privacy policy was drafted from the website's own code and configuration, so what it says the site does is accurate as at 27 July 2026. It has NOT been reviewed by anyone qualified in Indian trust law or in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and the registered name of the trust that operates the mandir has not yet been confirmed. It must be checked, corrected and approved by the mandir before this website is made public.

This website is operated by Dutt Mandir, which operates Om Siddhivinayak Machindra Dutt Mandir at 14/1, Waghjai Nagar, Sukhsagar Nagar, Katraj, Pune 411046, Maharashtra, India. It is referred to below as "the mandir".

The short version: the mandir collects nothing about you unless you fill in one of the two forms on this site and press send. There is no analytics, there is no advertising, there are no tracking cookies, and nothing about your visit is shared with anybody.

What the forms collect

There are two forms on this website, and they are the only places it asks you for anything.

The Contact form, on the Contact page, collects:

  • your name — required, because a message with no name cannot be answered;
  • your email address and your telephone number — both optional individually, but at least one is required, for the same reason;
  • the subject you choose from the list (general enquiry, visiting, diksha, events, seva or donations);
  • your message;
  • which page of this site you sent it from.

The Seva form, on the Seva page, collects:

  • your name — required;
  • your email address and your telephone number — at least one required;
  • which kinds of seva you are offering;
  • when you are available, if you say;
  • anything else you write in the message box.

Both forms also record the moment the page opened in your browser, and both carry a hidden field that a person never sees. Neither is about you: together they are how the site tells a human being apart from an automated spam script, and they are discarded with the rest of the submission when it is deleted.

Where a message goes, and who reads it

Into the database that runs this website, on the server that hosts it, and no further.

Nothing is emailed. No email is configured on this website at all, and it has no connection to any mailing service, any customer-relations system, or any third party of any kind. A message is read by someone from the mandir signing in to the private administration area of this site with a password, and answered by whatever means you gave.

Where the server is. You should know this before you write to the mandir: this website is not hosted in India. It runs on a privately operated server in the United States, on the Pacific coast, and anything you send through a form on this site is stored there. It is not on a public cloud, it is not shared with any hosting company, and nobody outside the mandir has access to it — but it does mean your message crosses a border, and Indian data-protection law treats that as something you are entitled to be told.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies on a visitor. Not one. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

A single cookie exists on this domain and it is only ever issued to somebody from the mandir who signs in to the private administration area. It keeps them signed in. If you are reading the public site, you will never receive it.

There is no Google Analytics, no Meta or Facebook pixel, no advertising network, no heatmap or session recorder, and no third-party analytics of any description. The lettering on this site is served from this site's own server, so reading it does not tell Google that you were here. The web server in front of the site is not configured to keep a record of individual page requests.

The site does store one small item in your own browser, called nss-intro-seen-v1. Its only purpose is to remember that you have already watched the short opening animation so that it is not played at you a second time. It stays on your device, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.

The videos on this site are hosted on this site's own server and play without contacting anyone else. Should the mandir ever embed a video from YouTube, this site is configured to use YouTube's no-cookie address for it.

Donations

This website does not take payments and has no payment page. It cannot ask you for a card number, and no part of it will ever try to. The Donations page publishes bank details and nothing more; if you choose to make a transfer, that happens entirely between you and your own bank, and this website is not involved in it and never sees it.

If you tell the mandir about a gift through the Contact form, that message is treated like any other message on this page.

How long anything is kept

This needs the mandir to decide. At present a message is kept until somebody deletes it, and no rule says when that should be. A retention period should be set before this site goes public, and this paragraph replaced with it.

Asking to see your data, or to have it removed

Write to the mandir through the Contact page and say what you want. Because the mandir publishes no email address and no telephone number, that form is the only channel there is, and it is the one this policy commits to.

Ask, and the mandir will tell you what it holds about you and delete it if you want it deleted. There is nothing to unsubscribe from — this site sends no newsletter and no marketing of any kind.

Children

Nothing on this website is aimed at children and neither form asks anybody's age. Children are welcome at the mandir; they have no reason to use these forms, and a parent or guardian should send the message.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it. The date of the last revision is at the top.
